The View Tower is an 18 story, steel-frame structure. It has 16 residential floors with one unit per floor. There is an upper-level basement with a service apartment and a lower-level basement with a four-car garage entered from Southard Place at the rear of the building. The lobby's welcoming arched ceiling, slim Grecian columns separating two entry arches perfectly compliment the Art Deco style that is uniquely defines the View Tower.

All of the 16 residential floors have east views taking in the Bay, Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge. From the ninth floor and above, views to the west on Hyde Street take in the Golden Gate Bridge. The 12th floor and above, reveals how the building towers above its neighbors. The north and south side windows present 360 degree views. The penthouse (#16) has a private west terrace and is a one bedroom plus den, one bath apartment. The second to the 15th floors consist of original 1 1/2 bedroom, two bath apartments with similar footprints to each other. The first floor is a slightly smaller one bedroom, two bath unit, six steps up from the lobby. Even the service apartment enjoys a view of the Bay to the east.

From the second level and above, the apartments have east balconies. All apartments have fireplaces with beautiful original mantels. There is both a passenger elevator and a service elevator.
